Happy New Year
So here we are, 2005 has arrived.
It’s only been three days, but I’ve already done something incredibly stupid. Yesterday, I decided to go to the garage and fill up the car with some petrol. Off I went, found the unleaded and started pumping it into the car. Sounds fine, right? Well it would be, if it weren’t for the fact that my car was a Diesel.
Luckily, I didn’t start the car up, and managed to get it towed away and pumped out at my parent’s house, rather than get charged £150(!) for the pleasure of the garage doing this.
Apart from that minor disaster my Christmas break was enjoyable. Kieran really enjoyed himself, as it was his first Christmas where he knew what he was going on.
Anyhow, I’m not going to do the whole €œwhat I did for Christmas€? thing that so many other people have done, it’s hardly interesting for most people.
Something I did find fascinating however, was this. On Christmas Day, my Nan was telling me about the increase of Parrots in Kent, I’d never seen a wild parrot before, so I found this quite interesting. Anyhow, a few days later, I pulled into a side road in Bexleyheath to call my mum as I was picking her up from the shopping centre - I had to wait a few minutes for them, so I got out of the car to take a stroll, I am sure you have guessed by now what I saw, a live Parrot.
Here’s a slightly enhanced photo of the parrot.

And an link to a BBC Article that I found from back in July last year explaining how the parrot population in the UK is going up 30% per year.
