The Lion Pub, Farningham

It was my mums 50th birthday on Tuesday and we decided to celebrate it by going to a pub called The Lion in Farningham, Kent.

I was very disappointed. The place itself was nice – it was right next to a river and inside was like an old cottage, it’s the food order that caused the problem.

Our order of drinks took about 15 minutes to come.

My mum’s starter came out first – but we then had to wait 20 minutes for the other starters to come out, meaning that we were not all eating at the same time.

Then the main meals took at least another 40 minutes to arrive; again not all coming at the same time. They then asked if we wanted anymore drinks, seeing as I had a sore throat I asked for one, but it had still not come by the time I’d finished my food (which took time in itself to eat due to my throat and needing a drink).

Their excuse was that due to the hot weather they were very busy. Maybe if I ever go back I should check the weather report to make sure that it’ll be overcast before booking a table.
