What Rocked, What Sucked

Uncategorized

Listening to Radio1 at some point in the past I seem to remember a “What Rocked, What Sucked” feature – where a listening will say What Rocked and What Sucked about their weekend.

So, my choice for this weekend is:

What Rocked

  • Getting an email saying the new dedicated server is up and running (within just two days).
  • Qmailrocks – A fantastic website/tutorial which goes over a step by step guide to installing Qmail (a linux mail server) with SpamAssassin and Clam AntiVirus. I did a different tutorial at first, which went a bit “tits up” but after removing the previous install this one was perfect.
  • OpenDNS – A new find after my DNS servers were updating at the speed of a tortuous – changed over to OpenDNS and it fixed the problem, they also have a built-in anti-phishing which is pretty neat.

What Sucked

  • HeartInternet – I’ll rant about this another time.
  • Having the remails of man flu
  • Spending many hours in Linux hell
  • Spending an evening when my kids were at their grandparents tidying the house

All in all quite a productive weekend.
