"I've only ever used a Mac once, for about 10 mins, it was a long time ago now but I dont remember being overly impressed."

sadly that's the experience many PC users have quoted over time as some justification for not liking Macs, oh and the "Macs only come with 1 mouse button" and "they don't play games".

Who brought the mouse to the masses?
Who brought the GUI to the masses?
Who brought drag and drop to the masses?
What mp3 player was you using prior to the iPod?
What computer easily runs Linux, Windows and OSX?
What will be your next mobile?

Take a bite of the Apple, think different, enjoy the ride. Try not to be luddite, help me not to be smitten :-)

Exactly the point I was making Pranav. It all depends on what you have used in the past and how you have found that experience to be.

If anyone wants to loan me a Mac for a couple of months I may well change my mind, until then I'll stick to my trusty PC thanks.

I like your comparison, made me chuckle.

"I just dont see the need for Macs when we have PC's in the same way I dont see the need for Pepsi as we have Coke. Its all about personal choice and taste I suppose."

You say that because you have never used a mac! I'd say it's more about using 21st century technology vs using 20th century technology. or, in webmaster terms, macs = dynamic website built with a database and php, with cool ajax. design on a css file, code in php files. all code XHTML strict. PCs = HTML3.01 transitional static pages that also use a scripting language and a database, but you have some code, some CSS style and a lot of invalid code all on the same page, jumbled up and un-debugable.

Apple is a marketing dream.

Not only do people now refer to mp3 players as "ipods" even when they are not but stick the letter "i" infront of a product name and people instantly think its an Apple thing.

This isnt a new thing, hoover for example is used all over the world to describe what is in fact a "vacuum cleaner", Hoover was a brand name.

As for Mac's vs PC's, I've only ever used a Mac once, for about 10 mins, it was a long time ago now but I dont remember being overly impressed.

Having said that, maybe I just dont see the need for Macs when we have PC's in the same way I dont see the need for Pepsi as we have Coke. Its all about personal choice and taste I suppose.
