Amazing WordPress Theme – I want it!

Uncategorized

Late last night after doing all my Christmas shopping online I found myself wondering how I was going to pay for it all (god bless having children) and started looking at wordpress themes for a product based domain that seemed to be available to buy.

It was then that I came across what is potentially one of the best themes I have yet seem for WordPress.

Revolution Themes have released a few different styles that really push WordPress to the next level and provide an entry level solution to getting an online magazine up and running in the space of a few hours.

Ultimately if I was to buy a theme I’d probably want to get the full pack that is priced at $500 and slightly out of my price range (if anyone wants to buy me a Christmas gift you’re more than welcome) but I imagine there is a lot that can be done with these – would love to see a site like Lee’s Pleo Toy in this kind of template.

While we are talking of themes I’ve found a few more themes and plugins recently that are really neat & will be adding them to the WordPress Theme and Plugin back in the next few days.

I actually bought the magazine theme last week and paid $249 for the developers rights. So far I am very, very impressed but still have a long way to go in the customisation stakes.

I’m still to be convinced about the merits of using WordPress for a ‘magazine’ type site. It’s fine for blogs but I would think something custom built would be better suited. There’s only so far WordPress can stretch in my humble opinion!

If your a digitalpoint user you get a discount of 25% which brings the price right down. I’m not sure if thats just a single ($99 making it $75) or will also apply to the whole pack.

saving 25% on the pack would be excellent. You quote DPSALES im sure ;)

    Ohh and don’t mention it.

I use the original revolution theme on my own site(s) and I really like it. I balls up a little as I host my blog on a server that doesn’t support mod_rewrite and the revolution theme needs that for full-blown custom permalinks (that’s why I’ve got the /index.php/ bit stuck in my urls).

The tech revolution theme is smart. But maybe this one is even smarter: http://www.premiumnewstheme.com/

love the way the photo handling works!

James – where did you get the ‘full pack $500′ price from pls, and what is it? I can only see the $250 developers price.

James – I think these themes are superb. I’ve just launched my new product review site based on a mash of several RT themes and wondered what you thought? Its at http://www.gadgetheaven.co.uk – its in beta as I’m still uploading the content.

Did you ever buy the Revolution theme? I just bought the Revolution magazine theme last week and I am so pleased. It’s amazing how easy it is to customise and how good it looks!

  9. Yes, The revolution theme package is amazing! I actually purchased the master package you mention in your post and got developer rights to all of the Revolution themes. It was definitely pricey, but I with the time I will save on the site builds I am doing will more than make up for the price.

One big piece of news regarding the Revolution Themes is that the developers of the themes are actually going to be pulling them off the market and making just thier revelotuion theme open source. Check out thier site for more news. But this is a big deal for WP theme news. Check it out! If you want to get your hands on all of the themes, I suggest you jump on it now before they pull them from the site forever.
