This is certianly the way to go. I go down the product route rather than people (although I do own Otis Redding, Carlos Teves and Charles Manson blogs).

I do go niche, very niche and infact am so keen on this approach that I bought domain names on Christmas day and late new year's eve on niche products aimed at next Christmas.

It's the way to go!
