Given up on The Apprentice already..
I’ve managed to somehow miss The Apprentice before and only managed to see it for the first time towards the end of the last season. The final stages were enjoyable and with that being the case I decided to sit down and watch the first episode of the new series that started on BBC1 this evening.
Apologies as I know there are a number of fans of the show that read this blog, but what a big disappointment it was tonight. I had to turn the show off 15 minutes early. Ignoring the fact that the men were arguing and acting like little kids from start of the first task, the thing that really, really good to me was the bloody arrogance of some of them… to quote one of the blokes, who’s name I have already forgotten:
“Oh, I’ve never failed at anything, I see getting a B in one of my GCSE’s as a fail”
Tthis was one of the tamer comments, I’ve already had to remove all memory of some of the other ones from my mind before I started to get too frustrated.
Fair play mate - you’ve done well, you’ve managed to get on TV, but try not to act like a complete tit and destroy my viewing pleasure by acting like an arrogant toff.
Rant over. Hope other people enjoyed the show more than me!

[…] has given up on the show already and won’t be watching it any more. But he’s got it wrong. […]
This one of the reasons I don’t watch Dragons Den either. It’s just full of crap. The Dragons don’t want to take any form of risk. Unless everything is 100% they won’t invest.
These entrepreneur shows are just about “entertainment” and you don’t really learn anything. I have an issue with “entertainment” on TV - its mostly crap.
That’s probably why I’m in constant struggle for the remote with the missus. She likes these programmes but I won’t typically watch anything that isn’t a documentary or sport. These manipulated programmes such as The Apprentice and Dragon’s Den are for people that feel in awe to the main figures. Boring!
To be honest, their arrogance is what makes the show so compelling, I’ve been watching the UK series from the start back when it was on BBC 2, and I really dislike the sort of OTT business types on there. Seeing them cut down to size is what makes the show so fun. The more arrogant they are, the harder the fall.
I agree. The Apprentice is “reality” trash TV like big brother, it certainly has got nothing to do with business.
